Why should Jewish Studies be a core part of every Israeli student's higher education?

Bar-Ilan University (BIU) is a microcosm of the State of Israel. Its diverse student population comes together in an academic environment which embraces Judaism and Zionism. These principles are core to the University's groundbreaking initiatives in the sciences, law, nanotechnology, engineering, business, the humanities and its new Medical School in the Galilee.

BIU is Israel's only university where every student is required to take 20% of his/her coursework in Jewish Studies, selecting from more than 1,000 subjects ranging from Jewish history and culture to Talmud/Bible studies.
