The Begin-Sadat Center For Strategic Studies
BESA Center
Israeli decision-makers in military and civilian life, diplomats, journalists and academics worldwide - all have come to rely on the Begin-Sadat Center's work when considering the opportunities for peace and the problems of war in the Middle East.
Nowhere in Israel can one find a more dynamic and experienced team of strategic thinkers, military men and academics. The BESA Center's research associates are widely acknowledged experts. They are consulted, involved, respected. The Center specializes in policy-pertinent research on matters of strategy, security and peace in the Middle East at the specific request of the foreign and defense policy-making establishment.
The Begin-Sadat Center has developed cooperative relationships with strategic study centers and government defense agencies worldwide, from Ankara to Washington and from London to Seoul. Since its founding in 1991 at Bar-Ilan University, the BESA Center has published more than 35 publications in English and Hebrew, and been host to numerous international and local conferences.
A non-partisan and independent institute, the Center is dedicated to the memory of Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin and Egyptian President Anwar Sadat, whose efforts in pursuing peace laid the cornerstone for future conflict resolution in the Middle East. BESA Research Associates are seeking visionary partners who will carry on the legacy of Begin and Sadat to bring about a future that is secure and peaceful for the State of Israel.
