Prof. Eytan Gilboa

Prof. Eytan Gilboa

Professor of International Communication and Director of the Center for International Communication at Bar-Ilan University

Prof. Eytan Gilboa is a renowned expert on international communication, public diplomacy and US policy in the Middle East. He is the Chair of the Israel Communication Association, the academic and professional organization of scholars serving in departments and schools of communication in all Israeli institutions of higher education.

He was professor of political science and communication at Bar-Ilan University in Israel, founded the School of Communication and the Center for International Communication, and served as the first director of both.

He was a consultant to the Prime Minister’s Office and the Ministries of Defense and Foreign Affairs, Academic Director of International Studies at the National Defense College, and Chair of the Foreign Service Selection Committee.

Prof. Gilboa contributes op-ed articles to Israeli and international newspapers, and serves as a commentator on both television and radio networks.

Prof. Jonathan Rynhold

Prof. Jonathan Rynhold

Prof. Jonathan Rynhold specializes in Middle East-Asia relations, in the relationship between identity, values and foreign policy, and in US-Israel relations. He is a lecturer in political science at Bar-Ilan U. (Ph.D. London School of Economics), Director of the Argov Center for the Study of Israel and the Jewish People at BIU and is a research associate at BESA- Begin Sadat Center for Strategic Affairs at Bar-Ilan.

Prof. Rynhold has published extensively on such topics as: Israel and the Peace Process; US-Israeli Relations; Israel: Religion and Politics; Israel: Domestic Politics. His work has been published in numerous academic journals, including Political Science Quarterly, Survival, and the Review of International Studies. He has also co-edited two volumes on Israeli elections in the Israel at the Polls series and is a member of the editorial board of the journal Fathom.

His book entitled The Arab-Israeli Conflict in American Political Culture published by Cambridge University Press won the Israeli Association for Political Science prize for the best book of 2015. The book received praise from, amongst others, Israel’s former Ambassador to the United States, Michael Oren and David Makovsky, a former senior advisor to U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry.

He is regularly interviewed by a wide variety of news outlets, which have included the Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, New York Times, Reuters, CNN, USA Today, The Daily Telegraph, The Times (London), El Pais (Spain) Liberation (France), Al Jazeera, Xinhua (China), the Jerusalem Post, Times of Israel and Ha’aretz.
